Cranhill is an inner city district of Glasgow, developed in the 1950’s and compactly located in the south east of the city. It was created to provide post war housing and has developed over the years to provide for the needs of the current local population. There are everyday amenities, nursery and primary schooling available within the area and there are a number of open spaces providing for local recreational use. The most famous local landmark in the area is the square shaped Cranhill Water Tower located at the corner of Stepps Rd and Bellrock St. The city centre is easily accessible and the M8 is close by for convenient access to the central belt and beyond.
