Submission of Proxy Bids
If you are unable to attend the auction one alternative method of bidding is to submit a proxy bid. To facilitate this we require a letter from you providing your full details (full name, address, post code and telephone number) and also those of your Scottish solicitor. The letter needs to confirm which lot or lots you wish to bid for, the maximum figure you wish to bid for each lot and a cheque or Banker's Draft (payable to SVA Property Auctions Ltd) to cover the deposit(s) payable on your maximum bid for each lot. If your maximum bid is £1,000 or less then the cheque should be for the full sum. It is essential that we have a different cheque or Banker's Draft for each lot especially if the lots are being offered by different vendors.
Yours instructions must be delivered to our office at:
SVA Property Auctions
13 Great King Street
Your instructions must be received by us on the day before the auction as SVA Property Auctions staff leave our office for the sale before the post arrives on the actual day of the auction itself.
Assuming the proxy bid is in order we will then arrange for a party to bid up to your maximum figure. Assuming your bid or bids are above the reserve price and the bidding stops before or at your maximum figure, you will be the successful bidder at the point that the bidding stops. If you are unsuccessful we will return your cheque or Banker's Draft. We do not offer an online facility.
If you have any queries in connection with the above please do not hesitate to contact the office (tel: 0131 624 6640) or send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
