Falkirk occupies a strategic position in the Central Belt and enjoys direct access to both the Central Scotland motorway and railway networks. Westquarter is located to the east of the town centre, roughly halfway between Falkirk and Polmont and is just to the south of Laurieston. Edinburgh is 22 miles to the east.
Leave the M9 at junction 5 and take the A803 towards Falkirk. Turn left towards Polmont and pass the impressive new Falkirk Distillery Co premises. At the “T” junction turn right towards Laurieston. Take the first left to Westquarter and follow the road uphill into a well-established residential area. Upon reaching the Westquarter Primary School (on the right), Elm Drive is on the left with the site at its head and on the left. There are some local amenities, including the local Primary School, with Falkirk providing a far wider selection of services and facilities.
An essentially rectangular site, sloping generally to the north, where it extends down to Elm Drive. From the top of the site, there is an open aspect over the adjacent surrounding residential areas. The site has previously been cleared and is now somewhat overgrown with scrub and a few small trees. There remains some historic metal rail fencing defining part of the site’s boundaries, whilst a more modern timber panel fence stands adjacent to No 12 Elm Drive.

In February 2019, Falkirk Council granted Planning Permission in Principle for the Development of the Land for Housing Purposes – see Consent Ref: P/18/0462/PPP. Previously the site has had consent for residential development including a scheme for twelve one and a half and two storey houses and also a second scheme for nine dwellings.
