LOT 3 LAND AT AULTBEA, BY ACHNASHEEN, IV22 2JA, Sold Post
Possible Residential Development Land – 0.5Ha (1.23Acres)
Situated on the east side of Loch Ewe on the west coast of mainland Scotland, Aultbea forms the village centre for a scattered rural population from the townships of Drumchork, Balnaluib, Ormiscaig and Mellon Charles. It provides a Primary School, a Post Offfice, a village shop and other local amenities. The secondary school is in Gairloch (12 miles south-west). It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and popular with those who enjoy outdoor or water pursuits. Grid Ref: – 187409,889086.
From the A835 trunk road to Ullapool take the A832 west at Braemore Junction. After 31 miles take the road to your right (signed Aultbea) just after the Russian Convoy Exhibition. At the next junction turn right and then first right just over the river. Then follow this road round to the left past the vacant Bridgend Stores building and a residential property. The site sits on your left just before a sharp righthand bend with a cattle grid.
The site comprises an undeveloped parcel of ground bounded by a timber post and wire fence without a gate. It slopes gently downhill from the west corner towards the north-east boundary with a number of drainage channels leading into a larger ditch close to the north-east boundary. The ground is covered with rough grass and the occasional small tree. All rights reserved. The site is believed to be suitable for residential development subject to obtaining all the necessary consents. We understand that the site was the subject of a planning application for residential development (07/00937/FULRC) in 2007 and that the application was withdrawn in 2011.
