Redundant Tank and Weir Sites in Rural Location 0.17 ha. (0.42 ac.) approx.

Ballachulish lies approx 13 miles south of Fort William on the A82 trunk route. The name comes from the gaelic for village of the narrows and has been a crossing point over Loch Leven for hundreds of years. It is perhaps best known for the slate quarries which are now inactive and it also provides a gateway to the iconic Glencoe. The property is situated to the south of Loch Leven in an area of forestry.

From the south end of the Ballachulish Bridge take the A828(T) towards Oban. After one mile, immediately beyond the golf course, take the first left into Glenachulish. Follow the road to the Forestry Commission car park at the top. Proceed straight ahead on the footpath marked Sgorr Dhearg Donuill. The CWT & WTW site is about 400yds along the track on the right. Continue past it for c150m then take the first turning to the left, do not cross the river but walk about 50m further upstream along the side of the river to reach the RWI site. Glenachulish CWT & WTW Grid Ref: 204704,758393. ABHAINN GREADHAIN RWI Grid Ref: 204675,758130.

The WTW & CWT site comprises a regularly shaped, sloping fenced area housing a small building, a fibreglass kiosk and a range of largely underground tanks, valves etc. It has an access straight from the forestry track and is surrounded by forestry on the other 3 sides. The Abhainn Greadhain RWI is an unfenced site straddling the river to the south of the WTW & CWT site. On site, there is a concrete weir and intake chamber set into the bank of the river.
