SVA Auction Press Release
SVA Property Auctions, Scotland’s independent property auction company, has completed its second successful online, live-streamed auction, this afternoon. The March auction featured six lots, five of which were land parcels with the other lot a former masthouse with development potential.
With four of the six lots selling under the hammer and two post auction deals concluded immediately after the sale finished, SVA have completed a “clean sweep” raising £246,900, SVA Director and Auctioneer Shaun Vigers was delighted with the outcome and a 100% success rate. He said: “As we expected, the rural plots with potential for creating attractive accommodation in a countryside setting or the development of amenities for outdoor activities, resulted in competitive bidding and better than expected prices.”
Kennel Wood, for instance, 2.5 miles north of Dunoon, is a 21.6 acre area of deciduous woodland, which was guided at £30,000 and sold for £41,000. The woodland is protected by a Tree Preservation Order and it is therefore expected that the site will be reserved for low impact leisure use.
The parcels of land at Whitebridge near Inverness and at Oakbank Cottages in West Calder, raising £31,500 and £9,900 respectively, were also gratifying results for the sellers.
But perhaps the surprise result was the former masthouse lot, comprising a vacant single storey building and small area of ground within a secure compound which was guided at £10,000 and sold for over twice that amount, with the hammer eventually falling on a bid of £22,500.
