SVA Property Auctions launch programme of live-streamed auctions and suite of new website tools
SVA Property Auctions, Scotland’s independent property auction company, has responded to the restrictions of the last year with a major programme of investment and innovation.
The company launched Scotland’s first ever online, live-streamed auction on 30th September 2020, raising over £1.6 million and selling all but one of the 15 lots. Says SVA Director and auctioneer Shaun Vigers: “Unlike many other auction companies, who have opted, in lockdown, for an e-bay style auction where bidders can place on-line bids over the course of a day, our live-streamed, closed door auctions are hosted in real-time from our auction studio, with myself wielding my gavel and bringing it down on sales.”
The next live streamed auction will take place on Wednesday 24th March, with another sale towards the end of May or the first week in June, followed by a comprehensive programme of auctions throughout the autumn months. The March auction is currently featuring six lots, five of which are land parcels including a 21.6 acre wood in Dunoon suitable for low impact leisure use, a 0.6 acre site in the attractive Perthshire village of St Maddoes with the principle of residential development already established over most of the plot and two sites extending over 8.16 acres in the Scottish Borders village of Stow with conditional consent for six houses on parts of each site.
Says Vigers: “Interestingly the majority of the lots going under the hammer on Wednesday are rural plots with potential for the development of attractive countryside living accommodation or amenities for outdoor activities. These lots meet the criteria of popular acquisitions during the pandemic and we would anticipate there to be significant interest.”
As part of the need to accommodate new features associated with the launch of the online live-streamed auction programme, SVA Property Auctions has also undertaken a comprehensive website re-design and upgrade, providing both buyers and sellers with new tools and opportunities.
Instead of releasing a complete auction catalogue in both printed and digital form 4 weeks prior to auction, SVA is now introducing new lots to market as soon as the instructions are received, allowing lots to benefit from the maximum exposure possible.
An inter-active Remote Bidders Registration Form has also been introduced, allowing interested parties and and regular bidders the opportunity to register with SVA for remote online, proxy and telephone bidding well in advance of the auction day.
Responding to feedback from site and service users, a more comprehensive package of support data relating to auction lots will be an ongoing feature and for less experienced auction clients there is now a comprehensive information resource providing information on the process of buying and selling at auction.
Finally, SVA have introduced a new Sale by Private Treaty service, aimed at offering a range of properties which would benefit from specialist marketing, supported by an enhanced package of support documents.
SVA Property Auctions March auction commences at 2pm on Wednesday 24th March. All bidders must register in advance of the auction and all bidding will be conducted remotely via an online portal, by traditional proxy bidding or telephone bidding.
